Biking in the Goyt Valley

I have owned this book for almost a year and never actually got round to using it.

Yesterday afternoon Maddy and I put our bikes on my car and drove out to Marple, on the outskirts of Greater Manchester, to cycle along the Goyt Valley, route 9 in the book.

It was only a 10k ride but had a couple of steep climbs (were used to cycling up and down Oxford Road) and some nice views. It was also interesting to see the Goyt, a river I’ve heard a bit about with it being one of my nearest moving water venues, but somewhere I’ve never been before.
